British Airborne Jeep

The British Airborne forces modified the American Jeep so that it can be transported by Horsa gliders. Quite a number of parts of the Jeep is removed for fitting and safety reasons. I have a Step by Step article about the various conversions here.

The Jeep models are from Academy, and the crew and passengers are from SHQ.

The radio vehicle. I scratchbuilt the 6 pdr ammo cases on the bonnet. The antennae are acupuncture needles. The yellow sign in the front is a mark the laden weight of the vehicle, for river crossing or glider stowing calculations.

The yellow marking on the side of the jeep is to mark the centre of gravity of the vehicle while mounting in the glider.

The sky blue markings on the bonnet are supposed to be the vehicle number.
